One of our nation's primary concerns is whether or not we will continue to produce a quality workforce in the 21st century. One response to this challenge has been a growing movement across the country to include career awareness and exploration as an integral part of the school curriculum.
Career Exploration will provide students with a knowledge base in career clusters: how academic skills relate to occupations and how interests, strengths, and abilities tie into making career decisions.
Every 8th grade student will be involved in a Career Exploration class for one semester. The class meets every other day - opposite Physical Education class. We anticipate that each student will develop a better understanding of what direction thier high school course work should take them.
